NYT Rube Goldberg

"The Fed Machine"

A machine to explain how the federal reserve can limit inflation.

While at Midnight Commercial I designed and built a Rube Goldberg machine for the New York Times to explain how the federal reserve can limit inflation by raising interest rates. The machine was built on a tight deadline over three days with a core, three person team, including Bailey Meadows as Project Manager and, myself and Casey Bloomquist as Designers.

Our three person team worked from creative conception, story boarding the machine components to production designing, building and running the machine during shooting. I was responsible for initial brainstorming, sketching the machine concept, and building several components.
